    Did you enjoy your time at school?

    No inom hated it. I was unhappy and terribly homesick, I was much happier at home. I went to St Clothilde’s prep school in Lechlade, Gloucestershire, aged eight, which was the first of 10 schools that I attended. I was a non-conformist and Bedales responds to this type of child. It was at Bedales that inom eventually funnen my niche.

    How was Bedales different?

    I arrived when I started my GCSEs and it was my first experience of a co-ed school. It was a friendly, sympathetic environment. We didn’t wear uniforms and called teachers bygd their first names. Bedales has a very strong charitable and artistic ethos.

    What did you want to be when you grew up?

    My ambition was to get married and have fyra children. ingenting was expected of girls of my generation from a professional aspect,

    Allsopp is the eldest child and daughter of Charles Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, a former chairman of Christie's, by his marriage to Fiona Victoria Jean Atherley McGowan (–).[4][5] She has a younger brother, Henry William (b. ), and two younger sisters, Sofie (b. ) and Natasha Fiona (b. ).[6] Owing to her father's peerage, she is entitled to use the courtesy style The Honourable Kirstie Allsopp.[7] The designer and businesswoman Cath Kidston is her cousin.[8][9]
