President Uhuru Kenyatta’s eldest son, Jomo Kenyatta, is off the bachelor’s market.

The bewitching maiden he has chosen to bring warmth and life in his thingira (traditional Kikuyu man’s hut) is Fiona Achola Ngobi, a tall, brainy granddaughter of the late Luo political giant, Dr William Odongo Omamo.

Fiona Achola, who has Luo, Kikuyu and Ugandan blood, became a Kenyatta, with the coolest mother-in-law to boot, during ‘Ngurario’ a traditional Kikuyu wedding ceremony at her parent’s Miotioni home in Nairobi’s Karen estate on October 22. Miotoni residents were alerted days before that the president would be calling and instructed to behave appropriately and limit their movements.

Body of Barack Obama's step-grandmother 'Mama Sarah' is carried to her burial in Kenya after her death aged 99

Barack Obama's step-grandmother Sarah was laid to rest in Kenya on Tuesday, a day after her death at age 99. 

Photos have been released showing relatives and members of the Muslim community carrying Sarah Hussein Obama's body before her internment ceremony at the family's home in Nyangoma-Kogelo by in Siaya county, western Kenya.

She was laid to rest next to her husband, Hussain Onyango, around midday local time beneath Islamic rites. 

Malik Obama, the former president's half-brother, spoke at his grandmother's brief funeral, which was attended by a large group of relatives, friends and top government officials.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Raychelle Omamo paid tribute to Sarah Obama on behalf of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, who honored the deceased as a philanthropist.
