Anthony Lander Horwitz (June 9, – May 27, ) was an American journalist and author. He won a Pulitzer Prize in His books include One for the Road: a Hitchhiker's Outback (), Baghdad Without a Map (), Confederates in the Attic (), Blue Latitudes (also known as Into the Blue) (), A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World () and Midnight Rising: John Brown and the Raid That Sparked the Civil War (). In , he won the James Aronson Award. In , he won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for stories about conditions of low-income workers in the US, published in The Wall Street Journal. He also wrote for The New Yorker and The New York Times.
Horwitz was born in Washington, D.C. to a Jewish family. He married Australian writer Geraldine Brooks in She won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in for her novel, March (). The couple had two children.
