Julio Alfredo Jaramillo Laurido (October 1, 1935 – February 9, 1978) was a notable Ecuadorian singer and recording artist who performed throughout Latin America, achieving great fame for his renditions of boleros, valses, pasillos, tangos, and rancheras.

[editar | editar la fonte]Moteyáu "el ruiseñor d'América", nacíu en Guayaquil el 1 d'ochobre de 1935 na Clínica Panchana. Fíu de Juan Pantaleón Jaramillo Erazo, natural de Machachi y de Apolonia Laurido Cáceres, nacida en Guayaquil d'ascendencia xamaicana.[3][4] El so padre emigró a la provincia de Guayas en busca de meyores oportunidaes llaborales y foi ellí onde conoció a Apolonia.[5] El 2 d'abril de 1941, cuando Julio cuntaba con cinco años d'edá, perdió al so padre por cuenta de un accidente llaboral cuando ésti fabricaba una cruz pa la tumba de la so fía que finara a curtia edá.
