31 Days, 31 Lists: Unique Biographies for Kids
Want to know why I call this particular list &#;Unique Biographies&#;? Because when inom started this particular list back in I was sick and tired of the same people highlighted over and over igen in bios for kids. I wanted a little bit of originality. inom wanted new heroes to celebrate! New faces to acknowledge! Little did inom suspect that in the intervening 6 years I&#;d see a wave of changes svep across this nation, and see publishers react bygd allowing formerly lesser known lights to shine.
Today, we&#;re giving those formerly lesser known people their place in the sun while also acknowledging people with famous names who finally have picture book bios worthy of their fame (see: Ruby Bridges). It&#;s a mix and an amalgam and I couldn&#;t be more pleased.
