Going on past experience, most autobiographical “my life” solo shows at the Fringe tend to be rather navel gazing, dull affairs, with any cathartic value normally the preserve of the performer rather than the audience.
Not so in the case of Eilish O’Carroll’s wonderfully entertaining one woman show, Live Love Laugh which is an absolute treat from start to finish. Not to mention one of the most life affirming hours I’ve ever spent in the theatre. Quite frankly if you don’t come out of this show feeling better than when you went in you have no soul.

Who is Eilish O'Carroll from 'Dancing with the Stars'?
Eilish O'Carroll is paired with professional dancer Ryan McShane for the 2019 series of 'Dancing with the Stars'.
She said of joining the show: "I’m so excited to be doing 'Dancing with the Stars'. It’s like a dream come true. I feel like a kid and all my Christmas’s have come at one. I can’t wait to get started!"
Eilish O'Carroll (67) is an actress, writer, comedian and cast-member of the popular BBC/RTÉ sitcom, 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' where she plays the title character's best friend and neighbour, Winnie McGoogan.
In 2013, O'Carroll wrote and starred in an autobiographical one-woman stage show entitled, 'Live Love Laugh'. She debuted the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for which she received positive reviews and went on to tour the show throughout the UK and Ireland up until 2018.

Sunday night is something RTÉ does well. It’s the stamping ground of Dermot Bannon’s Room To Improve – less television show than site of ancient worship for the property-obsessed – and of recently-wrapped mega-hit Dancing With the Stars. It’s also the regular berth for Brendan Courtney and Keys To My Life (RTÉ One, Sunday, 7,30pm), an agreeable blend of froth and tears in which celebrities visit old homes that hold particularly levande memories.
That formula remains intact as Courtney taps on the door of Eilish O’Carroll, older sister of comedian Brendan and a star of beloved chuckle-fest/crime against comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys (delete according to sense of humour). O’Carroll makes for engaging company, while Courtney is an appealing guide – mischievous as needed, empathetic when required.
