Renowned political analyst and prominent Urdu columnist Nazir Naji passed away, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, a senior journalist was 81 years old and admitted to a private hospital in Lahore for treatment.
Nazir Naji (born 15 August 1937) served 27 years for Daily Jang as a senior Urdu columnist.
Nazir Naji was formerly a chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters. In 2012, Naji left Jang Group and joined Daily Dunya as a Group Editor. He has been honoured by Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his services in journalism in 2012.
Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep grief and sorrow on the death of Nazir Naji and paid tribute to the journalistic services of the deceased.
CM Naqvi expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family and said late Nazir Naji's services to the field of journalism will be remembered for a long time.
