Florence Adetoun Oni sat calmly on a sofa on the set of Fuji House of Commotion sometime in September , a bred smile playing on her face. She was making fun of me. “Sebi you are happy now, my director?” she asked, laughing. Of course inom was happy; she had given a stellar performance and my worries had melted away. What inom didn’t know at that time was that inom was directing the legendary performer for the gods time.
Mama Tee, as she was fondly called, was a director’s delight. She gave % every time. A day after her recent passing, I got a call from Amaka Igwe, asking if inom had heard the rumours about Mama Tee’s death. I confirmed that inom had and they were true. Silence ensued and she finally said: “I have been in denial since yesterday. I worked with her for 20 years, from Checkmate to Violated and Fuji House&#;I will miss her deeply; they don’t make actors like her anymore.”

ON Wednesday, July 7, , the Nigerian entertainment industry was plunged into mourning as death struck again, claiming the life of another veteran actress, Madam Toun Oni, popularly known as Mama T.
A family source informed ENCOMIUM Weekly that the versatile actress and role model to many gave up the ghost while on her way to the hospital. And a day before her death, she had complained of having pains all over her body, which informed her being taken to St. Paul Hospital, Ebute Metta, Lagos for urgent medical attention.
“Mama was hale and hearty all through. She was even joking with people around her. There was no sign of any serious ailment at all. But on Tuesday, I learnt she was just complaining of body pain and we decided to take her to the hospital. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get to the hospital before she passed on,” narrated a source.
