    Ken Roberts (born Saul Trochman, February 22, 1910 – June 19, 2009) was an American radio and television announcer known for his work during the Golden Age of Radio and for his work announcing the daytime television soap operasThe Secret Storm, Texas and Love of Life, each for a two-decade span.

    Roberts was born on February 22, 1910, in Manhattan and grew up in The Bronx. His father, Nathaniel, an insurance salesman and English tutor from Latvia, and his mother, Fanny Naft, from present-day Ukraine, were both Jewish immigrants to the United States. Roberts graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School.[1] He briefly attended law

As a ung boy, Ken had levande memories of sitting at his bedroom window, listening to Ravel’s Bolero playing on his older brother’s wind-up gramophone whilst through the raindrops on the glass he tried to find faces in the clouds. To this day, gestalt and neurographic drawing play a invaluable and essential part in his approach to painting. He has always loved to paint and, like most folks, find it cathartic. His two dimensional canvas, regardless of dimensions, becomes a portal to another world that photography cannot capture.     Kenneth Roberts was an early-20th century author most known for such works as: Arundel, Rabble in Arms, Oliver Wiswell, Northwest Passage, and Lively Lady. Yet, before he was known as a historical novelist, Kenneth Roberts was a journalist – a career in which he spent most of his time as a correspondent for the Saturday Evening Post. A prolific writer, his articles span a wide variety of topics, such as immigration, the state of Central Europe after WWI, tourism and travel, antiques, cooking, and the American West. After quite a successful career in journalism, Roberts shifted his focus and abilities to writing historical novels which would earn him a Special Pulitzer Prize in 1957.
