Remember ‘Hotspur’ and ‘Wizard’, Biggles and Batman? Stories of fictional heroes to whom schoolboys aspired. Of course they didn’t really exist. You couldn’t go through life like they did. They never seemed to pass exams. They took on without fear of favour whatever foes they met and proved victorious.
In fact one such did exist – Arthur Carr, captain of Nottinghamshire and England. “The Germans can wait”, he thought, “I must first save Nottinghamshire.” A publisher wouldn't risk a story that began like that, but as the cliché goes, ‘Truth can be Stranger than Fiction!’

Headstones is a Canadian punk-influenced[1]rock band that was formed in Kingston, Ontario[2] in , broke up in , and then reunited in [3] Consisting of vocalist Hugh Dillon, guitarist Trent Carr, bassist Tim White, keyboardist Steve Carr and Jesse Labovitz on drums, and a reputation for high energy, 'more rock less super shock' stage presence, and interaction with the audience, they frequently draw capacity crowds at mid-sized venues.[4] Their songwriting tackles many serious and controversial topics. Between and , Headstones were among the top best-selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 35 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada.[5]

Best known for their raucous live performances, the band became one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands of the s. Over their career the band enjoyed nationwide radio-play in Canada and had several Juno Award nominations. Their musicianship is typically tight and energetic, their music usually heavy and rough; lyrics range from break-ups to addiction, damnation to necrophilia.
