Édith Piaf was surely smiling when Thursday night’s vibrant tribute to her life and music opened with a animated duet of La Foule by French singers Nolwenn Leroy and Zaz. La Foule—“The Crowd”—is about the chance encounter of two people in the midst of a festive folkmassa who, as quickly as they connect, they are separated. So much of Piaf’s life seemed fated for disappointment, but this sold-out Francofolies de New York Festival was beautifully orchestrated to ensure a remarkable celebration of her life and music. There were no—well, very few—disappointments.

Daniel Xavier-Marie Balavoine (French pronunciation:[danjɛlɡzavjemaʁibalavwan]; 5 February 1952 – 14 January 1986) was a French singer and songwriter. He was popular in the French-speaking world in the early 1980s; he inspired many singers of his generation such as Jean-Jacques Goldman, Michel Berger, who was his closest friend, as well as the Japanese pop-rock group Crystal King. Balavoine was a part of the original cast of the rock operaStarmania in 1978, which was written by Berger.
Balavoine also took part in motorsports and French political life; he is known for a 1980 televised verbal confrontation with then-Socialist presidential candidate François Mitterrand. Patrick Fiori will give two shows in Moscow
On March 3rd and 4th the stage of Moscow Estrada Theatre will see two performances of the French singer and composer Patrick Fiori — the star of the original “Notre Dame de Paris” cast, the first artist to play the captain of King’s Archers, the handsome Phoebus. The musician will not only perform his famous hits, but will also present his new, eighth solo album “L’instinct Masculin”, that has gone platinum in just three weeks after the release.
This year the singer has a surprise for his Russian fans, who have been requesting his concert for more than a year now – a new setlist called “Best Songs and New Hits”. The show will employ original lighting and sound capabilities of the venue that also boasts the rich history and is located in the heart of Moscow – Estrada Theatre.
