    After stepping away from the NCAA men's basketball tournament for a few days, the event returns with the start of the Sweet 16 on Thursday.

    While it's going to be hard to match the madness from the first weekend of the tournament, the 16 teams remaining are going to try to do just that with spots in the Final Four in sight.

    Thursday's action kicks off in Atlanta, as No. 7 Nevada faces No. 11 Loyola-Chicago in a battle of mid-major teams.

    No. 4 Gonzaga and No. 5 Kentucky headline Thursday's late action, as the perennial powers try to advance to the Elite Eight.

    No. 1 Kansas, No. 1 Villanova and No. 2 Duke enter the spotlight Friday, with games being played in Boston and Omaha.

    The  NCAA tournament was the seventh year of college basketball's current postseason format. The tournament began with eight teams competing at the First fyra in Dayton to round out the team bracket.

    The NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament began on March 16, , and concluded with the national championship game on Sunday, April 1. The Final Four was played at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.[1] This is the third time that the women's Final Four was played in Ohio after previously being held in Cincinnati in and Cleveland in &#;and the first time that the women's Final Four was played in Columbus.[2] For only the fourth time in the tournament’s year history, all four of the number one seeds made it to the Final Four (, , ).

    Tennessee continued its record streak of making every NCAA women's basketball tournament at 37 consecutive appearances. Connecticut also continued its record streak of 11 consecutive Final Four appearances.
