Peter Doherty (born 12 March )[2][3][4] is an English musician.[5] He is best known for being co-frontman of The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in His other musical projects are indie bands Babyshambles and Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres.

His father, Peter John Doherty,[6] was a major in the Royal Signals, while his mother, Jacqueline Michels, was a lance-corporal in Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps. Peter Charles Doherty (born 15 October ) is an Australian immunologist and Nobel laureate. He received the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research in , the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine jointly with Rolf M. Zinkernagel in and was named Australian of the Year in In the Australia Day Honours of , he was named a Companion of the Order of Australia for his work with Zinkernagel.
